Hudson's Adventure Island is an action-adventure video game developed and distributed by Hudson Soft, the game was released in 1986 in Japan and the following year 1987 it reaches the US territory, it will arrive much later in Europe in 1992. This game is a adaptation of the Wonder Boy arcade game developed by Sega.

 

The game spawned various adaptations and releases on another system over time, plus the game has a large number of sequels. The game is a platform classic with a medium difficulty level. At the time it received average reviews.

A brief history of Hudson's Adventure Island

The evil Witch Doctor has kidnapped Princess Leilani from Master Higgins and taken her to Adventure Island in the South Pacific, our mission is to help Master Higgins save Princess Leilani, but this is not going to be easy; On the island we find forests, mountains, caves, traps and many enemy characters.

How to play Hudson's Adventure Island

On the home screen we only have an option to press START to start the game. The controls that we use during the game are: with the left and right d pad we move in the indicated direction, with the d pad down we crouch, with the A button we jump, with the B button shoots weapons or push while running to make him run faster.

At the top of the screen our life bar appears, the life bar decreases as time goes by, if we grab the fruits that appear throughout the game they will add a little life bar but if we get a bottle of milk we will completely fill our life bar, if the bar runs out the game is over.

The items in Hudson´s Adventure Island

The items that we find throughout the game are: Stone Axe (A): Throw stone axes that damage enemies. Fire weapons (B): Throw fireballs that can damage rocks as well. Skaterboard (C): We will move faster but we can't stop. With the right d pad we accelerate and with the left d pad we brake. Flower (D): doubles the amount of energy points that fruits give. Milk (E): completely fills our health bar. Honeygirl (F): gives us invincibility for a few seconds. Eggplant (G): progressively removes our health bar. Ruby Ring (H): It gives us 2000 points, it only appears if we have the fire weapon. 1-UP (I): gives us an extra life. Key (J): opens the way to a bonus level. Milk Red (k): fill our health bar. Honey Bee (L): It is achieved in the 1 round 1 area at the end before reaching the goal in a hidden egg. If we lose all lives we can use it for this we press the right d pad + START.

 

 

The Enemy Characters in Hudson´s Adventure Island

The enemy characters that we find in the game are: Sneil (A): snail that moves slowly. Cavas (B): birds that fly, we must jump to defeat them. Cobra (C): they are snakes that sometimes throw fire. Kello (D): These frogs come in two colors, the green ones are stationary while the brown ones jump. Red Oct (E): octopus that jumps from the water. Blue Oct (F): We first transform this octopus into Red Oct with our weapon to finally defeat it. Pooter (G): is a little pig in a bathing suit. Waler (H): this fish jumps from the water, we must avoid it or defeat it as soon as we can. Basser (I): They are bats that usually appear in caves. Skeleton (J): they are skulls surrounded by flames. Zigmo (K): they are spiders that can be static or move. Fire (L): a fire campfire that we find in the game. Ice (M): These are spikes of ice that fall from the ceiling of frozen caves. Coyote (N): these fast enemies always come from behind, a flower indicates their appearance, if we defeat them they leave us an item.

 

Hudson's Adventures Island Walkthrough

Area 1 round 1 

This round takes place in the forest. We start we move to the right we find a Banana we take it, we continue and we find an egg that contains the Stone Ax with this we can defeat the enemies, we meet the Sneil we defeat it we continue and find Rocks if we trip against it we will lose some life.

We advance and find an egg that contains a Skateboard, tripping over the first bird we find a hidden egg that contains the Fire Weapon, with this weapon we can destroy Rocks and rolling rocks.

In this part we find in the carrot a platform that takes us to the bonus level, this level consists of a series of trampolines that we must jump grabbing as many fruits as possible.

We continue and defeat the Sneil later we find some Rocks that we break with the Rocks at the end of this platform we find a hidden egg, we jump to the trampoline and take the Pot we continue we defeat Kello the frog and after crossing the platforms around the edge we find a hidden egg containing the Honey Bee, we reach the goal.

Area 1 round 2 

 

This round takes place in the ocean. We start by jumping and we find an egg that contains a Skateboard, we advance by jumping between the platforms, on a platform at the end, right where the carrot is, we find a hidden egg.

In this part we simply advance by jumping between the platforms, we must grab as many fruits as possible so as not to lower the health bar.

After this we find an egg that contains the Honeygirl, this gives us invincibility for a few seconds we must take advantage of this to defeat the largest number of enemies.

In this last part we will jump between platforms in one of them we find the Pot, this item will allow us to have double points at the end we continue and reach the goal.

Area 1 round 3 

 

This round takes place in a cave. We start and find the Skateboard in an egg or if we don't have a weapon, the Stone Ax will appear, we advance defeating the enemies and grabbing the fruits.

We advance and find the Honeygirl in an egg, we take the opportunity to defeat the enemies we find, before finishing the platform we find a hidden egg that contains the Key when we jump to the platform we will be taken to the bonus level.

We arrive at a part covered with ice here we must walk carefully since the ice is slippery, we advance and find an egg that contains a Flower we continue avoiding that the Ice fall on us, later we find an egg but we will not take it since it is hidden there the Eggplant, this enemy will drain our life quickly, before the Eggplant egg we find a hidden egg.

Later we find an egg that contains a Skateboard we calculate well in case you want to grab it since the Pot is there, we are careful of the Rolling Rock on the edge of the platform we find a hidden egg we continue and we will reach the goal.

Area 1 round 4 

 

This round takes place in a forest at night. We start by defeating the Zigmo in case we do not have a weapon the Zigmo will not move in this part we find the Pot later we find an egg with a Flower.

After the checkpoint we will see a flower this is the sign that a Coyote will come from behind this enemy we paralyze the first attack and the second we defeat it in the end it will leave us an item as a reward, just before reaching the first Fire we find a hidden egg.

We go through this part defeating the enemies and grabbing the fruits as usual.

We continue and right in the middle of the Rocks we find a hidden egg, we will continue until we reach the boss King Quiller this enemy attacks us moving towards us if it reaches us we will lose a life he also throws fireballs that will burn us, we must attack him in the head that is his weak point, after defeating him his body will go away, in this way we finish this area and go to the next area.

Area 2 round 1 

 

this round takes place in the ocean. We start and find a Flower in an egg, we continue moving forward and we find some Oct, we cross the platforms and reach another platform, after grabbing the carrot a little further on we find a hidden egg.

We continue and after some platforms we find a trampoline we jump and fall into an egg that contains a Honeygirl we take advantage of our invincibility to defeat the enemies.

We keep moving forward we defeat the Kello and continue jumping between the platforms later we find a hidden egg where there is an apple, later we find the Pot.

We continue to defeat enemies by jumping between platforms until we reach the goal.

Area 2 round 2 

 

This round takes place in a cave. We start and find an egg that contains a Flower although if we don't have a weapon we find the Stone Axe, we will advance defeating the enemies.

We continue and find an egg that contains a Skateboard we continue defeating the enemies, later we find a trampoline jumping there we can reach the Pot.

In this part we simply defeat the enemies and grabbing fruits.

A little further from the checkpoint we find an egg that contains Milk, we continue forward until we reach the carrot, there we find a hidden egg, we continue until we reach the goal.

Area 2 round 3 

 

This round takes place in a cave. We begin we find an egg that contains a Flower we continue our way defeating the enemies.

A little after the checkpoint we find a hidden egg that contains a Key later on we find an egg that contains a Skateboard we continue and on the second platform we will reach the bonus level.

In this part we are simply jumping between platforms.

We are jumping between the platforms in one of the platforms we find the Pot we must calculate the jump well since we will do it on a mobile platform, we continue until we reach the goal.

Area 2 round 4 

 

This round takes place in the night forest. We start by defeating the enemies that we find along the way, before reaching the checkpoint we find an egg that contains a Flower.

We take care of the Coyotes, we continue forward until we reach the Fire, later we find a Rock, we trip over it and it will give us the Pot.

After going through the Coyote flower we find a hidden egg we continue forward defeating the enemies.

In this part we find some enemies, we will continue until we reach the boss of this area, we defeat him in the known way.

Area 3 round 1 

 

This round takes place in a temple. We start and find an egg that contains a Skateboard later we find a rock next to a large platform if we trip over it we get the Pot, before reaching the checkpoint we find a secret egg.

We continue and find an egg that contains a Flower we will be careful when crossing these platforms, but in front of the Kellos we find a platform that takes us to a bonus level.

After the checkpoint we find an egg that contains Milk, we will continue jumping between platforms that move horizontally, we must be careful.

We continue and we reach an area where there are platforms that fall, we must pass between them and calculate the jumps well at the end we reach the goal.

Area 3 round 2 

 

This round takes place in the mountains of the forest. We start and find an egg that contains the Skateboard or the Stone Axe, we will advance defeating the enemies.

We continue and find an egg that contains a Flower later after the third Fire we find a hidden egg.

In this part we find a Skateboard we must be careful of the Coyotes later we find a Kello we jump on it and we must try to make it jump ahead of us so we will get the Pot.

We continue and in an egg we find the Honeygirl we take the opportunity to defeat all the enemies to the finish line.

Area 3 round 3 

 

This round takes place in the ocean. We start and we find a Skateboard we advance defeating the Oct before reaching the checkpoint we find a hidden egg.

In this part we simply jump between platforms before reaching the palm tree we find a hidden egg.

We continue and find the Honeygirl in an egg, we advance defeating the enemies.

We continue jumping between the platforms when we reach the Pot we must calculate our jump well, we continue and reach the goal.

Area 3 round 4 

 

This round takes place in the night forest. We start and defeat the enemies we find and grab the fruits to conserve our life before the checkpoint we find an egg that contains a Flower.

In this part we are advancing normally defeating the enemies, when we reach the springboard at the end there is an egg that contains an Eggplant.

After crossing the checkpoint we found a secret egg here we found two coyotes that jumped on us so be very careful.

After the checkpoint we run into the Rock and find the Pot we will continue until we reach the boss of this area we defeat him in the known way.

Area 4 round 1 

 

This round takes place in the forest. We start and find an egg that contains Honeygirl we advance defeating enemies and grabbing fruits.

We continue and find an egg that contains a Skateboard we continue defeating the enemies.

We advance and find a hidden egg in the fourth token, we go up the hill and find an egg that contains a Flower.

On the platform where we found the two Sneil on the Rock in the middle we stumbled and found the Pot later before reaching the goal we found a hidden egg.

Area 4 round 2 

 

This round takes place in the mountains. We start and find an egg that contains a Flower we advance defeating the enemies and grabbing fruits.

In this part we find a hidden egg among the Fire, later we stumble upon the Rock, this gives us the Pot.

We continue and in an egg we find Milk we will continue our way defeating the enemies.

We simply advance defeating the enemies and grabbing the fruits until we reach the goal.

Area 4 round 3 

 

This round takes place in a cave. We start and in an egg we find the Flower, when we make the first jump on the platform on the edge we find a hidden egg.

In this part we will find an egg that contains Milk.

From the checkpoint after defeating the two Skulls we run into the Rock and it gives us the Pot, later before finding the Cavas we find a hidden egg that contains the Key we advance and take the platform that takes us the bonus.

We advance carefully defeating the enemies, in the part of the platforms we avoid slipping, we cross and we reach the goal.

Area 4 round 4 

 

This round takes place in the night forest. We start by defeating the enemies and grabbing fruits before the checkpoint we find an egg that contains a Flower.

We advance we defeat the enemies after passing the four Kello we find a hidden egg we use the trampoline to grab the Pot.

We continue and find a Honeygirl in an egg, we take advantage of our invincibility to defeat the enemies.

Later we find Rocks next to the third one we find a hidden egg we continue and we reach the boss of this area we defeat him in the way we know.

Area 5 round 1 

 

This round takes place in the ocean. We start and we find an egg that contains a Flower we continue defeating the enemies we stumble upon the last Sneil and this gives us the Pot a little later we find an egg that contains a Key later we find the platform that takes us to the bonus.

We advance and find later an egg that contains a Skateboard we advance defeating the enemies that we find.

From the checkpoint at the end of the platform we find a hidden egg under the carrot, we continue defeating enemies and grabbing fruits.

We continue and defeat enemies at the end before reaching the goal we find a hidden egg.

Area 5 round 2 

 

This round takes place in a cave. We start and find an egg that contains a Flower, we continue defeating enemies and grabbing fruits.

We move forward and find an egg that contains a Skateboard after passing the Kellos we find some Pooter we run into the first one and it will give us the Pot.

In this part we will simply defeat the enemies and jump between platforms.

Here we are defeating the enemies and we will be jumping between the platforms until we reach the goal.

Area 5 round 3 

 

This round takes place in a temple. We start and find an egg that contains a Skateboard, later we find an egg that contains an Eggplant.

We continue and find an egg that contains Skateboard we will continue and find a hidden egg before reaching the cliff, after the springboards we find three Rocks if we trip on the Rock in the middle we find the Pot.

We advance and find an egg that contains Milk, we continue and find a series of platforms that we must cross very carefully.

After the checkpoint before reaching the apple we find a hidden egg we continue and cross the platforms until we reach the goal.

Area 5 round 4 

 

This round takes place in a night forest. We will advance defeating the enemies before reaching the checkpoint we find an egg that contains a Flower.

We continue to advance and defeat the enemies without much difficulty.

We continue in the same way defeating the enemies and grabbing fruits, we will reach a part where we find two apples and a Sneil if we run into him he will give us the Pot.

A little after the checkpoint we find a hidden egg that contains a Milk, we continue advancing and we will reach the boss of this area, we defeat him in the usual way.

Area 6 round 1 

 

This round takes place in the ocean. We start by making a big jump but be careful at the end an egg with an Eggplant awaits us, we advance jumping between platforms and defeating the enemies.

It is this part we advance jumping between platforms defeating enemies and grabbing fruits on our way, after the end of the platforms we find a Cobra we stumble upon it and it will give us the Pot.

We continue and find an egg that contains a Skateboard or a Stone Axe, after crossing the palm trees after the carrot we find a hidden egg.

We just keep jumping between platforms defeating enemies and grabbing fruits until we reach the finish line.

Area 6 round 2 

 

This round takes place in a cave. Starting we find an egg that contains a Skateboard further in front of the Rock we find a platform that takes us to a bonus level.

We continue and we find an egg with a Skateboard or a Stone Axe, we continue defeating enemies after passing the Kello we find a hidden egg.

We advance and find an egg that contains a flower we continue and find the Pot we reach it by jumping on the trampoline later we find an egg that contains an Eggplant a little further in front of the Fire we find a hidden egg.

We continue forward defeating the enemies later we find an egg that contains a Skateboard we advance defeating the enemies until we reach the goal.

Area 6 round 3 

 

This round takes place in the mountains. We start and we find an egg that contains a Flower we continue defeating the enemies.

In this part we simply advance defeating the enemies quickly since we will not find fruits.

We advance and find an egg that contains a Honeygirl, later we find a Fire we stumble against it and find the Pot, we continue and find an egg that contains the Eggplant next to it we find a hidden egg.

We continue and find an area with trampolines at the end we find an egg that contains Milk and later we find an egg that contains an Eggplant we advance defeating the enemies and reach the goal.

Area 6 round 4  

 

This round takes place in a night forest. We start moving forward and defeat enemies and grab fruits later we find an egg that contains a Flower.

We advance defeating the enemies later than the two Fire we find a hidden egg after the carrot, we will continue and find a Pooter we stumble upon it and it will give us the Pot.

We keep defeating enemies and grabbing fruits.

In this part before the second block we find a hidden egg we continue to advance until we reach the boss of this area, we defeat him and continue on.

Area 7 round 1 

 

This round takes place in a cave. We start and find an egg that contains a Flower, we advance taking care of the Ice that fall from the ceiling, we defeat the enemies.

We advance without much concern in this part we find a hidden egg on the edge where an Ice falls before a platform where there are some bananas.

We continue and after passing through the Fire we find a hidden egg, we continue our way jumping between platforms, later we find a trampoline we accommodate it and jump on it with impulse to take the Pot avoiding grabbing the egg that is on the other side since there we find an Eggplant.

We passed this part without much difficulty, we found a hidden egg just before facing the third Kello, we advanced to the goal.

Area 7 round 2 

 

This round takes place in the ocean. We start and we find an egg that contains a flower, we continue and in the third apple we find a hidden egg, we advance defeating the enemies.

We advance and find some platforms that fall at the end we find a trampoline we jump and find an egg, which contains the Stone Ax or the Skateboard, between two Fire we will see that a Pooter comes intentionally we stumble against it since it contains the Pot.

A little further on where the Kellos are, we find a hidden egg, we continue moving forward jumping between the platforms.

We continue our way grabbing fruits and defeating the enemies right at the end under the apple we have a hidden egg we reach the goal.

Area 7 round 3 

 

This round takes place in a cave. We start and find an egg that contains a Flower, we advance defeating the enemies, after going through the Fire we jump to another platform there we find a hidden egg.

Later we find an egg that contains the Skateboard we continue and find two platforms in the second if we stay there it will take us to a bonus level.

 

We continue defeating the enemies and grabbing fruits, at the end of some platforms we find the Pot we take it and immediately we jump taking care of the Rock that comes.

 

In this part we simply jump between the platforms taking care of the enemies and as always grabbing fruits for life.

 

Area 7 round 4 

 

This round takes place in a night forest. In this first part we advance by simply defeating the enemies and grabbing fruits, almost at the end we find an egg that contains a Flower. 

 

 

Like the previous section, this area is not very difficult, we simply advance in the trampoline area and find an egg that contains the Eggplant. 

 

We advance without much difficulty grabbing fruits and defeating the enemies we will reach an area where we find three Pooter we must run into the third one since it hides the Pot. 

 

 

We continue and later after three Fire we find a hidden egg, we continue until we reach the boss of this area we defeat him as usual. 

 

Area 8 round 1 

 

This round takes place in the mountains. We start and we find a rolling rock, then we find an egg that contains a Flower, we continue defeating the enemies when we reach the bananas that appear where we find the Cavas, we find a secret egg, we continue defeating the enemies. 

 

 

We keep going up and this time we find several Kellos together with Skulls we will quickly defeat them since in this part we will not find fruits, the only thing we will find will be a hidden egg that contains Milk, we will find this egg in the lowest part where there are two clouds before some Skulls. 

 

After passing the checkpoint before going up we find a hidden egg we start to go up and we find Rocks with Skulls if we have the Fire Weapons we destroy the Rocks we continue doing this until we reach a place where there are two Rocks we destroy the one on the left as well as the enemies Nearby after this we hit the Rock on the right and we get the Pot, later we find two apples in the second we find a platform that leads us to a bonus. 

 

 

In this part we find trampolines on which we will jump on Fire, later we find an egg that contains Milk and after the Rocks we find an egg that contains the Eggplant, we advance defeating the enemies until we reach the goal. 

 

 

Area 8 round 2 

 

This round takes place in the ocean. We start by making a big jump, we advance defeating the enemies and jumping between platforms without much difficulty, we try to grab as many fruits as possible. 

 

As in the previous part, we will defeat the enemies and jump between the platforms grabbing the largest amount of fruit until we reach an area where we find a Pooter before a palm tree, there we find a hidden egg. 

 

 

In this part we find an egg that contains a Honeygirl we advance until the end of this part where we find a secret egg then we continue advancing jumping between platforms defeating the enemies and grabbing the fruits. 

 

 

Just before reaching the edge from the checkpoint we find a hidden egg, we continue moving forward jumping between the platforms in one of them we find the Pot we continue until we reach the goal. 

 

 

Area 8 round 3 

 

This round takes place in a temple. Initially we find the Skateboard or, failing that, the Stone Ax in an egg, we dodge the enemies or defeat them, later we find another egg that contains Eggplant, we will not take it but we will continue forward. 

 

In this part we find an egg that contains the Skateboard or the Stone Ax we grab it if necessary we continue defeating the enemies, in the previous section where the trampolines are we find a hidden egg. 

 

 

After the checkpoint we find an egg that contains Milk we take it and now we continue through the platforms that move horizontally here we must calculate our jump very well, once we have jumped all the platforms we have a hidden egg just before the first apple. 

 

 

In this new part we must execute the jumps carefully in order to avoid burning ourselves with the Fire, after passing this part we reach an area where we must jump between platforms that will fall, the recommended thing is not to jump at the moment but to walk a little on the platform so that take some momentum at the end we will reach a Fire we should not be afraid to touch it since if we do we will get the Pot and reach the goal. 

 

 

Area 8 round 4 

 

This round takes place in the night forest. A few steps after starting we find a hidden egg, we continue and we will find a large number of enemies, just before reaching the checkpoint we find an egg that contains a Flower. 

 

Caution in this part since a Coyote is coming, two spaces before the first Rock we have a hidden block, we advance defeating the enemies we find. 

 

 

A little further from the checkpoint we find an egg that contains the Eggplant, we find a hidden egg just before the bananas, we will continue to advance defeating the enemies. 

 

 

We continue and find a place where there are four Fire, we run into the first one avoiding falling into the others and in this way we obtain the Pot. 

 

 

We continue our way until we reach the boss area the platforms will fall so we must calculate our jumps, finally we reach the boss that we will defeat in the usual way

 

 

 

Defeated the boss we rescue the princess and we have finished the game.
