Circus Charlie is an arcade video game developed by Konami and published by Konami on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, the game is an adaptation of the arcade game released by Konami in 1984.
In the game we control a circus clown named Charlie in different mini-games, the NES version, besides the graphics, differs from the original in the amount of mini-games it has.
We start the game selecting the game mode we have A or B for 1 player or for 2 players, being A of lower difficulty and B of higher difficulty however as we advance the levels will become increasingly difficult. We start with four lives and every 20,000 points we gain one life.
Although many people think that the levels are repeated, this is not true, as you will notice the substantial changes in the different areas that we will see throughout this guide.
Stage 1
In this area we will do a demonstration of jumping on a Lion, we will jump over fire-filled pots and fire rings, sometimes we will have bonuses of 500 points these come in smaller fire rings; this area is 100 meters every 10 meters we find a fire pot.
In the more advanced levels the difficulty will increase, more hoops will appear, sometimes they come double and many times one after the other, so you should think before making any jump.
Stage 2
In this area we will do a balance demonstration walking on the rope and also jumping over monkeys, we must avoid the monkeys touching us because if they do we will fall and lose a life; sometimes a monkey of a different color appears jumping over it we will have a bonus of 500 points for each monkey.
In the more advanced levels of this level the difficulty will increase the monkeys will come closer together and more bonus monkeys will appear up to two, in each case we must avoid them and if necessary we go back to calculate the jumps well.
Stage 3
In this area we will make a demonstration of agility rolling on wheels and jumping from one to another, sometimes we can jump on a wheel in between and get a bonus of 500 points, we will do this only if the next wheel is close enough to each other.
In the more advanced levels the main difference is that there are more wheels and sometimes we must go back a little to make a correct jump or if we have the opportunity we can jump over the wheel and make a bonus.
Stage 4
In this area we will do an equine demonstration jumping on trampolines while riding on a pony, with the Pad to the right we increase the speed and with the Pad to the left we decrease the speed. We will jump on the trampolines chaining jumps on the trampolines in this way we make bonus points, we must avoid colliding with the trampolines as we would lose a life.
In the more advanced levels the main difference is that the trampolines will be much smaller and we must calculate the jumps well, we will alter the speed of the pony to make the jumps.
Stage 5
In this area we will do a trapeze demonstration, if we move the Pad in the opposite direction of our movement we decrease the speed, if we do it in the direction of the movement we will increase the speed. We can move from one trapeze to another when they are next to each other, the other way is to jump on the trampoline and wait for the trapeze to come closer when we move towards the trapeze.
In the more advanced levels the main difference is the speed of the trapezes; in this case we must alternate between increasing and decreasing the speed of the trapezes.
